Donating through this site is fast and is the best way to support our fundraising efforts.  If you are a UK tax payer 28% will be added to the value of your donation at no extra cost to yourselves which is a real bonus!

So a lot of you have asked me about the rhino charge and rhino ark.. with my poor grasp of the English language let me try explain,  to help you part with your money and be generous … It is after all for a good cause and not for our beer fund ..

Rhino Ark was founded just over 21 years ago in partnership with the Kenya Wildlife Service to conserve and protect the Aberdare's ecosystem by raising awareness of its importance and mobilizing support for its needs. The Ark recognizes and respects all the interests, and endeavours to harmonize them – physically, financially and politically – in a symbiotic and sustainable way. Central to this purpose is an electric fence completely surrounding the Aberdare National Park and Reserve, to protect the enclosed ecosystem and eliminate conflict between wildlife and humans and to protect the farmers, their crops and their livestocks, a demarcated boundary for man, fauna, flora and the land itself in perpetuity.

Since then, over 320 kms of the fence has been built, and where it stands the forest and the animals on one side, and the farms on the other, are demonstratively healthier.  This is already the longest conservation fence in East Africa.  This Eco-system is one of Kenya’s main rain forests and the source of five of the country’s main rivers, which provides most of Kenya’s hydro-electrical power and water to millions of Kenyans.  The myriad of flora and fauna in the Aberdares, attracts thousands of tourists annually and is a keystone of the Kenyan economy.

The Aberdares are home to many of Africa’s most threatened wildlife species such as the bongo, black rhino, wild dog, giant bush hog and the bongo, endemic to Africa. These habitats and animals not only provide a much needed tourist income for Kenya, but also ensure natures’ balance is maintained. A healthy ecosystem will continue to give water, energy and food back to Kenyans for generations to come. To read more on charity please visit www.rhinoark.org

So what is the Rhino Charge?  An annual event in Kenya where fools in outrageous 4*4 vehicles navigate past 13 check points, through the most challenging and gruelling terrain that Africa has to offer, in the shortest distance possible. Simple enough ;)

Now about us.  This is the first time we are entering the Rhino charge in Kenya ..gaining entry by winning the less demanding Rhino charge in the UK last year.  We are aiming to raise over £10,000 for the charity and we desperately need your help so please dig deep and donate generously.

Asanta sana for you contribution and help

Rhino Ark raises money for the building of electric eco-fences around mountain ecosystems in Kenya, namely Aberdare National Park, Mt. Kenya and Mau Eburu.
