The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, we're doing whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, whoever and wherever they are. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

In 2015 my husband, Rhody was diagnosed with throat cancer.

It was a very difficult time. The chemotherapy and radiotherapy took its toll but with the help of the doctors and nurses Rhody has made a remarkable recovery.

My Dad, Ken, was not so lucky and lost his battle with pancreatic cancer in 2008, aged 69. He lived only 3 weeks after being told it was terminal.

We would love to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan. Cancer touches everybody in some way.

We are in training for the Cape Town Cycle Tour which takes place on March 6th 2016 and will be great fun. There are over 35,000 participants and it's one of the biggest sportives in the world. The route takes in some spectacular scenery and I will be posting images of the training and race on my Instagram @samstrattonsims
