Story
Thanks for taking the time to find my fundraising page...
As you can see from the picture I ran the marathon back in 2005 and with your help raised over £1500 for children with epilepsy.
As many of you will know this year has been a tough one for my family with my mum being diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a rare form of cancer affecting the bone marrow. I'm very proud to say that with magnificent support from my dad, family members and friends mum has taken the whole thing in her stride with amazing courage, dignity and humour.
Some of the best ongoing support has come from Macmillan, so I was delighted when I secured a place in the 2009 London Marathon so that I can show my gratitude for the work they do by raising funds for this excellent charity.
If you sponsored me last time thank you so much - I hope I've given you enough time to recover and that you may be able to help out again. If you've not used the site before it's very easy to use, however if it's not your bag and you would like to sponsor me, you can always track me down and use a good old paper form!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Macmillan Cancer Support gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thanks for your support - it really is appreciated. Macmillan will be able to do a lot with the money, and it may just help me drag my larger, older, and generally more bedraggled form round the 26 miles and 385 yards one more time!! (trust me - you feel every one of those yards...)
