Story

Hey guys!

Well this is my second real charity event! My last one(2 marathons in 3 weeks)raised just over £1000-so this time I'm aiming for double that!

I needed a different challenge this time-and I like to push myself.

So, today I bought a bike! My plan is to ride from the Heath hospital in Cardiff to Edinburgh and back. I dont know exactly how many miles it will be(I could get lost!)but it will be over 1000 miles. My aim is to start at 9am and get back to the hospital by 12pm 14 days later-why? because that was the duration of my chemotherapy cycles!!

Thats right-for those of you that don't know a lot about me-I had cancer! Sorry if you've heard this before guys-but for those who haven't I feel I need to explain!

I was 15 when I had cancer and the charity I'm riding for-LATCH-helped me and my family through it. I owe a lot to sport and LATCH-and thats some of the reasons why I thought of this event.

I plan for the ride to take place sometime in August this year.

Please give to the charity-even if you don't support me-it's a truly great cause!

If you can help in any way please let me know-if you live in between Cardiff and Edinburgh I could always use a place to stay or maybe just a cup of tea on my ride!

I shall now try to train so that I can complete it for the children who are coping with cancer today-in the hope in years to come they will be alive to cycle just one mile!

I'll update you all soon on how things are going and hopefully I can figure out how to put some videos up so you can see how I'm doing.

PS I'm not certain yet but if I reach the £2000 target I am thinking I will let one of the children on the ward shave my head! This would be a big step for me-as self confidence has always been an issue for me after cancer!!

Thank you

Rich
