Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats with two friends from Wolsingham, Matt and James. We are aiming to complete the 960 miles in 9 days starting from Land's End on Friday 21st June. You can find out more on my blog here.

Now whilst that is some serious mileage each day we will be supported by Nigel in a support car for the first 5/6 days and after that by Marie-Louise and Angela in a motorhome

Why are we doing it? Well it was James' or Matt's idea to start with and I had my arm twisted (thanks Suzy) to join in too. It seemed like a good way to celebrate being 50 this year.

Training is ongoing and there are plenty of hills to ride up (and down) here in the North Pennines. It is here that the Teesdale & Weardale Search and Mountain Rescue Team (TWSMRT) do so much good work. The volunteers of TWSMRT are on call 24 hours a day 365 days of the year to find and rescue those who get into difficulties out on the rugged fells of the North Pennines but also to respond to Police requests to search for and locate vulnerable missing people across the whole of County Durham.

They do a great job and rely entirely on donations, sponsorship, charitable trusts and grants to meet their running costs as well as team members meeting their own direct costs.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
