We are a volunteer-based Sail Training Organisation which runs voyages for young people (aged 14 to 25 years) and people those with additional health or educational needs. We help development of lifeskills including responsibility, resourcefulness, communication, leadership, compassion and teamwork.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
On the 16 April 2009 I be will fulfilling my lifetime ambition by taking part in the Tall Ships Transatlantic Challenge and I will be crewing in leg 1. The distance I will be sailing is over 2,000 nautical miles from Southampton to Tenerife and stopping off at Vigo, Spain. The boat I will be racing on is a 68ft ketch called Rona 2 and we will be competiting against boats of similar size to ours.

I see this as a great opportunity to develop my personal skills such as leadership, communication, team working and to build my character. I am a Dinghy Instructor and I regular volunteer my time to encourage more young people from different backgrounds and different physical abilities to learn to sail.  The development of these skills will allow me to give more back to the communities where I teach sailing and I am keen to share my experiences and knowledge with other young people.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Rona Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
