Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
My Mum Trish has Huntington’s disease and is terminally ill.
Huntington's disease, which is often called HD, is a hereditary disorder of the central nervous system. In some way - which is not yet understood - the faulty gene leads to a damage of the nerve cells in areas of the brain which lead to symptoms including involuntary movements, difficulty in speech and swallowing and psychotic episodes.
There is no cure for this cruel inheritance for the 7000 people in the UK that suffer from Huntington’s and 20,000 people have a 50-50 chance of inheriting it through a parent afflicted with it.
As a result of this, I am walking part of the Great wall of china this year to raise money for research into a cure.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Huntington's Disease Association gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
