Story

Hi All

Nadia & Ricky here.

We are at Heathrow on the last leg of the journey home and have succesfully completed the challenge. We will update the page when we get a rest as we are exhausted by the 33 hours travelling home. Safe to say it was fantastic. The whole group all together have raised nearly £250,000 for Macmillan. See you soon

Well we have made it to Lima at least!  27hours travel so far and we still have to transfer to Juliaca by plane then from Juliaca to Puno by bus (lord help us).  Ricky is of course trying to get updates about the football (its Sunday and Celtic are playing but from what we hear Falkirk are giving them a run for their money).  We have met all the rest of the gang - some look like action man and others look like they followed the same training plan as Ricky and I.  Lots of talking it over with a glass of wine/stella.

We adjust to altitude hopefully over the next day or so in Puno then head off on the bikes on Tuesday.  x x x

If we find another internet cafe on the way we will update you all, if not next time you hear from us will be from Cusco hopefully.  Thanks again for all the support - Macmillan are worth it .

Love Nadia and Ricky. - (have left previous info on this page so anyone can still check out what we are trying to achieve).

We have now smashed our initial £6000 target (WWHhhhhhooooo!!) and so we have upped the limit and are now striving for £7000!!!

As part of our fundraising activities we held a Disco and Race Night in Yoker Bowling Club on Friday 5th May. We all had a great night and we raised over £1350.  Thankyou to everyone who turned up and helped make it such a success.

Ricky and his mate Mark Caveney also managed to complete the Edinburgh 10K run on Sunday 7th May and raised over £200.  Thanks to everyone who sponsored Mark and Ricky - and thankyou to Mark for travelling up from Birmingham to run (we know he was only in it for the beer at the pub afterwards though...)

We have received some very generous donations. First Engineering Ltd. one of our major corporate sponsors has pledged an amazing 25% of our fundraising target - thats £1500! and Scott Wilson Railways have also given us a fabulous donation with special thanks also to LMG Project Services Ltd, T.I.C.S. Ltd. and QTS!!! for their support. Kerrydale Street has once again demonstrated it's generosity with the site members contributing handsomely. Thankyou.

We are in training to cycle the 450km from Lake Titicaca to Machu Pichu, the fabled ‘Lost City of the Incas’. The challenge takes place September/October 2006. Yes we know that you are trying to get your heads around 450 KILOMETRES!!! To tell you the truth, we are too!

Any kind of donation would be greatly appreciated by us both and also MacMillan Cancer care. You can sponsor us online by selecting the SPONSOR US NOW link above.  Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Macmillan Cancer Relief will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor us now it is greatly appreciated!   Many thanks for your support.

Cheers, Nadia & Ricky
