For families with a child in the hospital making Christmas cookies and decorating the tree is the last thing on their minds right now. I know it was for our family Christmas 2018. I was admitted to the hospital at 30 weeks pregnant with Charlie, Lucy and James on December 1, 2018. I spent 25 days in the hospital and was discharged on Christmas Day 2018. Charlie, Lucy and James were six days old in NICU on their first Christmas. Ronald McDonald House Charities provided a room right down the hall from the NICU so that we could spend our first Christmas together as a family. They supported us in many ways through a month-long NICU stay and will forever have a special place in our hearts.
