10,500 people in the UK have ataxia which is a progressive neurological condition that disrupts the messages sent from our brains to our muscles that are used to move, speak, listen and see. Ataxia UK funds research into finding treatments and a cure and provide support until they are found.

Story

Please give what you can afford - Ataxia UK are a small charity and really appreciate any donation.

I  have Cerebellar ataxia (SCA 1).

In May,I  travelled solo to campsites around Europe in my convertible MG TF115 roadster, provided under the Motability contract hire scheme .

This was to show that disability need not prevent people from being independent and adventurous.

This trip has been partly funded by Ataxia UK.

On Saturday 15th September I appeared on the Radio 4 programme,"Excess Baggage." You can listen to the interview with Sandi Toksvig at www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/excessbaggage

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Ataxia UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
