Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am one of approximately 3.8 million British citizens that have Diabetes, a life threatening condition requiring daily injections just to stay alive. Diabetes is also a cause of the majority of non-accident limb amputations caused by complications of the condition. You may have noticed that I did not say illness. It is not an illness and there is no cure (yet). The pancreas stops making insulin, or only works partially, making it necessary to take injections to process the sugars taken in via food and drink. Other complications involve blindness, heart attacks, depression .... Unfortunately the list goes on.
The 12-18th June 2016 is Diabetes Week. This is organised by Diabetes UK, the webname of the charity The British Diabetics Association. Donations are used to provide funding for research into new treatments, preventative research, an advisory council and support for sufferers. Your money will go towards help funding all of these
If you are a UK taxpayer, please check the Gift Aid section as this will give an extra 25% to the charity at NO cost to you.
