Paris Marathon 2016 · 3 April 2016 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Hello!

For those of you who don't know me I am a doctor and medical researcher in Cambridge, UK. I am going to Paris in 2016 to do some research, namely to try and use brain imaging markers to predict those patients who deteriorate following a stroke, and hopefully shine a light on reasons why.

I thought it would be a good idea to run my first marathon, and the Paris marathon coincides with my trip to Paris. Therefore, I have chosen to raise money for the Stroke Association as I have seen how important their funding is to good quality research and support for stroke patients and their families.

I need to raise £1000, so the pressure's on!

Thanks very much
