Rape Crisis England & Wales is the charity working to end sexual violence and abuse. We are the membership organisation for Rape Crisis Centres who deliver specialist services to those affected by sexual violence in England & Wales. Together we aim to educate, influence and make change.

Story

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page, we appreciate any contributions made to this incredible, life changing charity that helps masses of survivors on a day to day basis.

It's been almost 2 years now since I walked out of the bathroom and noticed all those stones had fallen out of my earring, from where they had pushed my head against the wall and onto the floor. They still asked me why I didn't push them off, when my head was forced against the gravel. Whether it was 'consensual' and if I blamed myself.

Rape Crisis provided me with a positive support network, through which I was able to access a free therapist once a week for a number of months. This therapist helped me in a number of ways I didn't think possible, enabling me to push for the further help I needed, as well as processing and working through the aftermath of the sexual assault.

By donating to this cause you can directly help in raising discussion on a topic that people silence and find uncomfortable, as well as support centres where people have a safe space to talk about their traumas. I am extremely looking forward to falling from the sky with Robin in aid of Rape Crisis.

Endless appreciation and love, Emily x

Thank you very much, Emily and myself massively appreciate any donations made to our just giving campaign and we look very forward to facing this challenge together as friends whilst raising funds for such an important cause.

As I’ve entered into young adult life i’ve had so many of my loved ones, predominantly female friends sexually assaulted, harassed or having to take massive precautions in their daily lives to prevent these traumatic experiences happening to them. As a man I’ve realised how lucky I am for being able to walk home late at night, attend a live concert, go out drinking at a nightclub with friends, go to work and generally live my life feeling a great level of safety. I’m incredibly lucky and can’t entirely relate to Emily or anyone out there who has been a victim to such abuse but it breaks my heart that this goes on throughout the world and that safety can be a privilege opposed to a basic human right.

Rape Crisis did so much for Emily, a dear friend of mine and I’d like to support her, anyone out there who has experienced this trauma and a fantastic charity that’s devoting so much time, care and resources into tackling such a horrific issue in the world.

Thank you so much!
Love, Robin x
