TEAM BREW - Lanzarote Ironman 2009
The thought of doing an Ironman after a 14 year layoff is one that invokes more than a few senses! My post professional triathlon racing experience is somewhat sparse to say the least, the highlight of which was part running and part walking the London Marathon in 2007, a personal worst, completing it in nearly six hours, more to the point my wife beat me by over an hour! So why attempt one of the toughest races in the world? Well I believe we all need to do things that challenge us to remind us how fortunate we are to have good health. I will be racing in memory of my wonderful mum, Wendy Brew, who died in 2000 from pancreatic cancer (www.pcrf.org.uk). Thank you to all my friends and fellow Triathletes who have agreed to join 'TEAM BREW' and compete in this major event and help raise money for this very worthy cause. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
