We rehome and rehabilitate dogs to reduce stray and unwanted dogs locally

Story

So I've decided to try and run an adventure ultra-marathon for charity. This means approximately 30miles (tide dependant) through off-road hilly terrain in the lake district, 3000ft ascent (in a single km), a few rivers and stretches of sand thrown in for fun.

Without a doubt this challenge plays to my weaknesses and will be the hardest thing I've attempted... but I hope with all your support I will be able to succeed and raise some cash for a charity that's close to my heart at the same time,

The Staffie and Stray Rescue.

The aim of the rescue is to take dogs in need and find foster and permanent homes for them.

Staffordshire Bull Terriers are the most abused and misunderstood breed of dog who often fall victim of demonizing breed specific legislation. With reports of up to 75% of strays in the UK being Staffy's, SSR campaign to reduce negative perceptions towards the breed and hope to encourage more people to rehome, while also promoting responsible dog ownership.

The rescue is entirely volunteer based and the small but mighty team does a fantastic job in supporting the Staffies who come in needing their help. The long term plan is also to raise enough money so that they can buy land and build kennels to run a rescue centre.

Thank you for reading and no donation is too small, I will endeavour to do you all proud,

Many thanks

About the charity

We are a family run rescue which relies solely on volunteers. We rehome and rehabilitate these dogs as Staffies are negatively perceived by the media. Because of this they are often difficult to rehome. We campaign against this stigma and find happy forever homes for these deserving dogs.
