Rebs & Ollie do London Memory Walk!

London Memory Walk 2018 · 13 October 2018 ·
Now that I work for Alzheimer's Society, it is clear to me day after day why raising money for them is so important. Across the globe, somebody develops dementia every three seconds. However, dementia is still seen as a 'social care' problem, despite it being caused by diseases of the brain. Therefore, families of and people living with dementia do not receive the same level of support that people affected by other conditions (such as heart disease, cancer etc.). That's why it's important to raise money for Alzheimer's Society so that we can continue to support fundraisers, campaign for worthwhile change, research care and cure, and help people living with and affected by dementia to continue to live well.
We are walking London Memory Walk to raise both awareness and money for the amazing work Alzheimer's Society does! We are also doing this in memory of my fab Grandad, who passed away when I was 12 from Alzheimer's disease. It is one of the most painful things in the world to watch somebody that you love be robbed of their identity by such a cruel condition, but hopefully our money will contribute to the fight against dementia, to ensure that one day we can find a cure.
Any amount of money you donate would be really appreciated and if you know us, you know how lazy we like to be so we're really challenging ourselves (kind of) with this one!
Also, if you're out and about in London on the day, I'd urge you to sign up, join our team and do the walk with us :-)
Thanks everyone!
