Story
Thank you for visiting this page which has been created for, depending on how you knew her, Rose, Rosie or Rosemary. You'll find information below on a Service to celebrate her life, but first a few words on the Christina Noble Children's Foundation.
As you may know, Rose loved Asia; she worked in Hong Kong for two years and often travelled with Peter to India and the Far East. One such trip to Vietnam included a visit to the Christina Noble Children's Foundation which had been arranged after they met the Noble family in London. Rose and Peter subsequently planned to film a short documentary for the Charity (http://www.cncf.org/) but sadly Rose became too ill to travel. She did, however, complete but not post a form to sponsor a child. This is our chance to complete her gift.
Donating through Justgiving is discrete, easy and totally secure and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. Rose will be smiling at our support.
And now to the Service of thanksgiving which is to be held at 1pm on Saturday 9th August at the Collegiate Church of St Endelienta, St Endellion, near Port Isaac, North Cornwall. We know that both the date and venue will make attendance very difficult for some and impossible for others. Nevertheless Rose wanted the service in St Endellion - it is a church she was associated with from childhood, the church where her father Michael was laid to rest and the church where she sang on many occasions at the St Endellion Music Festival. The 50th Festival finishes the day before our service for Rose. She asked for a Service full of 'gratitude, love and happiness' and ...'no suits unless anyone objects - just Cornwall gear'!
If you are able to come to the Service please let Peter or a Ricketts know as there will be refreshments afterwards. You may also need help finding accommodation, so again, please let us know if we can help.
Getting there is probably best by car and the link below should help you:
Alternatively there is a 07:30 train from Paddington which arrives at Bodmin Parkway at 12:06. We can then ferry you the 40 minutes by road to the church. What we can't do is promise the train will arrive on time and this could frustrate your planned arrival at the church!
Whichever way you choose to travel, it would be fantastic if you could come to the Service. And whether you can make it or not, if you have donated to the Christina Noble Children's Foundation, we thank you.
