As you may or may not know, I will be attempting the Run to the Beat half-marathon around Greenwich on Sunday 28th October. As many of you will know, I'm not the most athletic of people - but I am thoroughly looking forward to it...I think.
To kick things off and to help raise money, as part of my training I'm planning to do something fun every month from now until D-Day on 28th October.
To start off, I'll be running a 3-mile egg-and-spoon race around Victoria Park against Alistair and Katie (Meade-King) on Saturday 14th July. Needless to say, no one's quite sure how it's going to work but I'll update this page with photos of the contest asap.
Then, because this is, after all, the year of the Diamond Jubilee, in August I'll run 6 miles along the original Jubilee Walkway, from Buckingham Palace, along the south bank, across Tower Bridge to St Paul's.
Finally, on Sunday 16th September, I'll be cycling the equivalent of a marathon around London.
If anyone happens to be in London for any of these "events" or, indeed, the actual half-marathon on 28th October, it would be great to see a friendly face. If not, don't worry - I'll keep this page updated with photos of the jollities.
I'm undertaking all this to raise money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research, a cause that of course means a lot to many of us. If you can spare any amount, large or small, it would be incredibly gratefully received.
Thank you so much in advance and please keep your fingers crossed for me!
Lots of love,
Rosie
