Orbis is a charity working to eliminate avoidable blindness. Shockingly, 75% of all visual impairment can be prevented or treated. That means that nearly 190 million adults and children would be able to see today if they had received surgery, treatment or glasses.

Story

The Mako Ride team are cycling from Dublin to Kinsale for

ORBIS Ireland. ORBIS is a charity that helps in the fight against
preventable blindness. With 253 million people worldwide either blind or
visually impaired and 80% of these cases treatable, we feel it is
important to raise awareness of ORBIS's amazing work.

ORBIS offers training for health care workers and volunteers in all
areas of the world, from remote communities to regional hospitals. It is
a great charity to get involved with, and any support would be greatly
appreciated.

We will be starting the bike ride in Dublin and finishing in Kinsale,
taking us 381km along the south eastern edge of Ireland. For more
information on our route, please check it out
