Royal Parks Half Marathon 2019 · 13 October 2019 ·
October 2019 will mark 10 YEARS since I got the all clear from Hodgkins Lymphoma, a form of blood cancer. What better way to celebrate than running a half marathon?! Ok, I'm sure I'll also be celebrating with many wines too but I've always wanted to run a half marathon and with Royal Parks Half Marathon falling almost 10 years to the day that I received the news that the cancer had gone it almost feels like fate. It won't be easy - the furthest I've run is 10k (just about) so I'll need all the encouragement I can get. I'll be running for the bloody marvelous blood cancer charity, Anthony Nolan, who I also happen to be lucky enough to work for these days.
Every day, Anthony Nolan saves the lives of people with a blood cancer or blood disorder. We do this by matching incredible individuals willing to donate their stem cells to people who desperately need a lifesaving transplant. We also carry out cutting edge scientific research, fund specialist post-transplant nurses and support patients and their families through the transplant process and beyond. We won’t stop until we save the lives of everyone who needs a stem cell transplant. Every penny you donate brings us closer to that day.
