The Great River Race · 8 September 2018

We‘re the world‘s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving and improving lives through research. We fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Story

We are a team of 10 very enthusiastic (but completely inexperienced) colleagues from MediaCom London. We will be competing in The Great River Race on 8th September 2018.

It is a 21.6 mile rowing race down the mighty Thames River, from London Docklands to Ham in Surrey. Heralded as 'London's River Marathon,' it attracts 330 crews from across the world, from professionals to... well us!

None of us have every rowed before but we have dedicated ourselves to 3 months of weekly training sessions gearing up for the big day. We are committed to raising money for Cancer Research.

Cancer Research is an amazing organisation that strives to 'beat cancer sooner.' They support research into all types of cancer across all age groups. Their goal is for survival in the UK to be among the best in the world. CRUK focuses their efforts in four key areas - working to prevent cancer, diagnose it earlier, develop new treatments and optimise new treatments.

All of lives have been effected by cancer in some way, and this charity's cause sits close to our hearts. We have an oar-some opportunity to raise some money to help research, we just need your help!
