Story
Hi all – especially those I haven't spoken to in donkey's years and I'm about to ask for some wedge.
On 8th October I – yes, me the "sportsman" – will be running a half marathon in aid of a London-based housing charity for the ex-homeless and vulnerable.
Would be amazing to smash the target of £1,000 I've set for myself so your generosity would be much appreciated. Londoners will all know that homelessness rates are absurdly high and, in terms of how far your donation will stretch, here's a bit of a "shopping list" of what Evolve can do (FYI, I particularly like the third one down):
- £18 pays for a homeless person living in a hostel to complete Food & Hygiene certificate;
- £12 pays for a homeless person living in a hostel to complete a Level 1 in ICT certificate;
- £90 pays for a refurbished second hand laptop that can be used to deliver training within hostels;
- £20 pays for a pair of trainers for young people on Football Training with Centrepoint;
- £20 a week pays for a hostel to run cooking clubs;
- £12.60 pays for a weekly travel card for a hostel resident to attend training and/or work experience in London;
- £25 pays for a homeless person living in a hostel to complete First Aid certificate.
Wish me luck and thank you!
Big Love. You are all legends...
