Running London Marathon and Landmarks Half for The Running Charity

London Landmarks Half Marathon 2018 · 25 March 2018 ·
Over the past couple of years I've had the privilege of working with The Running Charity, who believe that running is as good for your mind as it is for your body. Running builds resilience and self-esteem, and we use this to improve the lives of 16-25 year-olds who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Homelessness can happen at any time and to anyone. And when it happens to a young person it can affect them for the rest of their life. We use running to improve fitness and instil a goal-setting mentality that are key tools in helping these vulnerable young people to build healthy, sustainable futures. I have mentored some incredible young people, including helping my mentee and friend Zamzam Farah – a former refugee and Olympic 400m sprinter who represented Somalia at the London Olympics– run London Marathon last year.
In order to keep this amazing work going we need your support as we're a tiny charity working to maximise our impact with extremely limited resources. So this year Zamzam has passed the baton on to me to run a Marathon and a half, and I'd be grateful for your support so that The Running Charity can continue their valuable work and expand their reach to young people affected not only by homelessness but addiction and the criminal justice system too.
Thank you so much for your time, consideration, and support–
Jamie
