Story
On Sunday 7th October I will be asking my body, "how far can you go?" Hopefully for me my body will respond with "13.2 miles"! If you don't already know, I will be running -occasionally limping and hobbling - my way across Windsor's undulating hills for my first ever attempt at a half-marathon. Unlike the few people out there who find such runs relaxing, I doubt that the experience of running and running and running will be anything less than distressing. For my pain and blisters, I humbly request a small/very big (at your discretion) donation to Great Ormond Street's Children's Hospital.
If anyone knows someone who has been treated there, or has simply watched the BBC series on the hospital, you'll know how invaluable the work done by the hospital is for both patients and their families. If you haven't watched the series, iPlayer it!
Any donation - small or big - will be valued inestimably. Think of me suffering at the gym, and the effect this running will have on my old kneecaps. (wah, wah) So why not part with a few pounds that might otherwise be spent on temporary thrills such as an Urban Outfitters top or a ticket to a really-cool-arthouse-film on helping out a charity which will make a LASTING difference to the lives of seriously - and often critically - ill children.
Thank you for reading all of this!
