Story

Hi,

Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page.

Helen and Andrew are raising money for the Meningitis Research Foundation by running the Great North Run 2012.  This is a huge challenge for both of us as we have never really ran before and Helen is not a great fan of sport or fitness.

But why are we putting ourselves through this? Please read on to find out.

At 8 months old Helen was diagnosed with Menocal Meningitis and the hospital told our parents that she was within a hour of death.  Fortunately Helen survived with no side effects at all. But some are not so lucky. Without the Meningitis Research Foundation, life saving research and work into meningitis, symptoms and cures could not be found.  By raising money for the Research Foundation, we hope to help this fantastic charity and hope that our efforts may help saves lives, like Helen's was.

Anything you can give, no matter how big or small would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance

Helen and Andrew

Meningitis is deadly; killing and seriously disabling in hours. Small children and young adults are high risk, but all ages can be affected. Globally 1,000 people die daily. We fundraise to invest in research, campaign for vaccines, provide symptom information and support those already affected.
