Story
Some of you may have heard that recently Hope Rescue were called to assist with a multi-agency operation to help over 200 breeding dogs and puppies from an unlicensed breeder in Carmarthenshire. This is a statement they put on their Instagram page following the rescue....
“We were called to assist with a multi-agency operation spearheaded by the National Trading Standards Regional Investigation Team (Wales) and Trading Standards Wales to help over 200 breeding bitches, stud dogs and newly born puppies from an unlicensed breeder in Carmarthenshire over the weekend. Our incredible welfare team attended the site and rescued 47 dogs from the most heartbreaking and appalling conditions they had ever seen. They rescued five nursing mums with a total of 18 puppies, five pregnant mums and a further 19 adults”
Since the centre participated in this Rescue they now have 154 dogs in their care and have hit crisis point. They are in desperate need of help to give all of the dogs in their care the best second chance possible. As a dog owner and lover myself and knowing that so many of my family, friends and work colleagues are too, I am appealing to everyone I know to please donate to this page as any donation, big or small, is going to make such a huge difference to this centre. It isn’t a case of being able to help later, these dogs unfortunately cannot wait until later. They need our help now. I follow the centre on social media and it breaks my heart to see the conditions that these animals were brought in like. It’s not an exaggeration to say you can honestly see the look of sadness and feeling of being lost in their eyes.
As well as taking on this huge influx of dogs and puppies, they do incredible work every single day of the year with their mission to “reduce the number of dogs destroyed in the U.K. every year by providing a foster home, kennel space or rescue placement for dogs in crisis situations and; reduce the number of dogs, entering the animal welfare system through campaigning for change; education and the promotion of responsible ownership; and the provision of support to owners to help them keep their pets and; promote the therapeutic benefits of pet ownership and interaction with dogs.” Your donations will also go towards vet bills, the general day to day care of all of the dogs in the centre and ensuring that this centre, which is open 365 days a year, never has to be in the position where they have to turn a dog in need away.
To encourage donations I am going to be running 100km in the month of November. For anyone who knows me, you will know that running is not my strong suit and I have not done it properly for a while now but I have set myself this challenge in the hope of inspiring any type of donations. (God help me😂😂)
Please, if you are able to, donate as much as you can. We cannot change the start in life that any of the 154 dogs at this centre have had but we can change their future by helping this incredible centre.
Thank you in advance🐶
