Running The 106 mile Florida Keys Overseas Heritage Trail - 4 days/4 marathons · 2 December 2022

Across England and Wales, we're the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals - the UK's largest animal welfare charity. We rescue, rehabilitate and rehome many animals each year and campaign and educate to prevent animal cruelty. The RSPCA is registered with the Fundraising Regulator.

Story

I've just celebrated my 60th birthday - and as a keen runner I want to mark the occasion with a new running challenge.

I've decided to run the full length of the Florida Keys - starting in Key West and ending in Key Largo. This will be a solo 106 mile run over 4 days, so i'll be carrying my kit and hydration as I go. I'll fly in on 2nd December and fly back out 6th December.

I'd like to use this challenge to raise some much needed funds for the RSPCA.

Right now, the cost of living crisis + the end of home working has led to an increase in animal cruelty and neglect. If I can help just one defenseless animal to be saved from cruelty or find a new loving home then my run will be more than worthwhile!
