Story

On Saturday, 12th July I shall be entering full mid life crisis mode by taking part in the Artemis Great Kindrochit Quadrathlon.  The event includes four disciplines (see below) of which I shall be completing parts one and two for my team, Four Munros and a Funeral.

Swim 1.5k (0.8 miles) to the north side of Loch Tay. Approx timing 18-45 mins.

Run or walk over 7 Munros, encompassing the Lawers and Ptarmigan ridges to Morenish (approx 24k or 15 miles). Approx timing 5-8hrs

  • Max height is 1,214 metres
  • Loch height is 103 metres
  • Total ascended height is 2,465 metres

Kayak - run to Loch Tay Highland Lodges at Milton Morenish, then kayak 11k (7 miles) back to Ardtalnaig. Approx timing 1½ to 2¼ hrs.

Cycle - start and finish at Kindrochit, cycling clockwise around Loch Tay for 54k (34 miles). Approx timing 1¾ to 2½ hrs.

Slice a melon - in two with a sword and eat it to stop the clock.

As a team, we are all raising money for Mercy Corps, an International humanitarian aid and development Charity that focuses on emergency relief services & economic development.

If you could spare a few quid to sponsor me for my part in this event and help raise money for this very worthy charity, it would be very much appreciated.  When sposoring, please think about exactly how cold a Scottish Loch will be at six o'clock in the morning and what this will do to my aged body !!
