Dyslexia Scotland is the voluntary organisation representing the needs and interests of dyslexic people in Scotland.

Story

  • Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
  • It is estimated that 1 in 10 people has dyslexia.
  • unidentified, it can result in low self-esteem, stress, behavioural problems and underachievement.
  • it exists across the range of abilities and backgrounds
  • Dyslexia often runs in the family
  • there is no "cure" but lots of practical things can help overcome some of the barriers it presents
  • Dyslexia is a learning "difference" that can affect the way people communicate and is different for everyone.
  • It is not just about reading and writing and has nothing to do with intelligence.
  • learners with Dyslexia will benefit from early identification, appropriate intervention and targeted effective teaching
  • Adults will benefit from reasonable workplace adjustments such as assistive technology
  • Dyslexia Scotland needs funds to help them support their work in all of these areas
  • Please help
