On 8th September Samantha Ward and Claire Hardy, from the Nottingham Children's Hospital Play Service, will be setting off to trek Ilha Grande to Rio, in order to raise funds for the Nottingham Children's Hospital. The money raised will be shared equally between three areas; Ward E17 (Renal and Urology), Ward E39 (Oncology) and to support the improvement of the parents accommodation, which will benefit many families attending the paediatric unit.
Nottingham Children's Hospital is their place of work, so they are very passionate about raising funds for a charity that means so much to them. Every day they work with children, young people and their families, dealing with many different illnesses and conditions, and seeing their strength and courage through such tough times, has spurred them both on to challenge themselves. The children are their inspiration!
Please help Sam and Claire raise as much as possible for the patients and families that they care for. They have witnessed where fundraising has helped improve areas and services writhing the children's hospital and would like to give back to a charity close to their hearts.
On the run up to this challenge Sam and Claire will be holding many fundraising events to help reach their target of 11,000 pounds. If possible please donate to this page or support at one of the many events along the way. Any donation will be greatly appreciated, every penny counts!
