On the 10th October it is World Homeless Day - on the evening of the 10th I will be spending a night in the ‘Shed” at Gloucester Rugby Club - all funds raised will to Gloucester Rugby Community Charity’s Homeless Rugby Project and Gloucester City Mission. My night will start from 8pm through to 5am.
This year I will not be attending a homeless sleep out with my friends or a group I have decided to attend alone, the feeling of sleeping somewhere with a group of unknown people is only a small test of what vulnerable people go through on a daily basis ! I will be attending work on the 11th to conduct a full day work, many may ask if I will be OK as I will have a rough night sleep... but the reality is a huge amount of employees within businesses face this on a daily basis !
Please could you help me raise awareness and funds for 2 fantastic charities... please add a small donation and share the link to my page.
There are at least 320,000 homeless people in Britain....
There are as many as 380,000* Hidden Homeless people in Britain today. That is almost equivalent to a population the size of Manchester, and one that looks likely to grow, with current trends indicating that it could reach the one million mark by 2020
Society is becoming more fragmented.
1 in 4 families in the UK are only one payday away from Crisis
There is so much stigma around being homeless and stereotyping people .... Homeless does not mean Hopeless ! Everyone deserves an opportunity to move forward...
