Story
On the 22nd of April I will be running the London marathon to raise money for AMREF.
The African Medical and Research Foundation runs innovative health programmes in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Sudan, Somalia and South Africa,
AMREF supports vital work in Africa , focusing on HIV/AIDS, TB, malaria, water, family health, emergency response and health training.
In 2005, AMREF was proud to become the first African organisation to receive a Gates Award for Global Health, in recognition of its pioneering health work in Africa ’s poorest communities.
Your money could contribute towards the following:
£5 – could teach a small community how to prevent trachoma, a major cause of blindness in Africa
£10 – could train one community health worker, who will then spread healthcare advice and messages throughout the community
£50 – could pay for a life saving operation for one patient through AMREF’s Clinical Outreach Programme
£1250 – could provide the training and materials necessary to protect a rural community from malaria, Africa ’s biggest child killer
Please dig deep as all donations can have a direct impact on people’s lives.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
