Story
Hello All,
Last year I embarked upon a journey to improve my health and fitness, little did I know of what was to come…
I managed to rekindle my love and passion for fitness and sport, changing my mindset, my body shape and my career all in the process!!
I am currently studying for an Advanced Diploma in Personal Training as well as setting lots of goals and targets for myself hence my entry into the Great North Run.
The charity I have chosen to raise money for is called TACT.
When many people hear about orphans, they normally associate with places such as Romania, Cambodia, and other such countries far from our way of life.
What most people don’t realise is that we have orphans in the UK. Children, who for one reason or another find themselves without parents or relatives who can take care of them.
It is deeply upsetting to think that in a country as advanced as the UK, there are children who have been denied the basic right of a loving family at the very beginning of their lives, something which we all take for granted.
TACT is a national charity who work tirelessly to find loving parents for children who sadly find themselves beginning their lifelong journey alone.
They focus particularly on seeking permanent homes for children who have a form of autism, mainly caused by alcohol and drug abuse by their biological mothers during pregnancy.
The origins of this charity and the work that they do have directly and positively affected someone very close to me which is why I have chosen to support them in this event.
