Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

For those of you that don't know, 10 years ago I had a stroke caused by a dissected carotid artery. My left side was completely paralysed and I found myself in a wheelchair learning how to walk again at 19 years old. With the help and support of my amazing friends and family I am happy to say I've almost fully recovered and living a healthy, normal life, but obviously not everyone in my situation is so lucky.

Every year there are around 152,000 strokes in the UK. That's one every three and a half minutes. Most people affected are over 65, but anyone can have a stroke, including children and even babies. Stroke Association offers invaluable support and information to patients, families and carers going through this life-changing ordeal and I'm hoping you can help me raise some money to support them in their work.

To celebrate 10 years of recovery I am learning to run again and running 10k along with my 3 gorgeous friends (who were absolutely not guilt tripped into doing this with me). Any donation big or small would be HUGELY appreciated to help us raise some cash for this fantastic charity, and make the moaning/sweating/bruising/swearing all worthwhile.
