Hi there my name is scott barker i would just like to tell you abit about why and what im doing . Well im going to ride a 1000 miles from lands end to john o'groat in 12-14 day i hope witch will be on the 10th of july 2009 only 6months away for st josephs hospice and in memory of my mum .It all started 2 years ago when we got the worse news anybody could get my mum was told that she had teminal cancer after having cancer 3 times before she was one of the 7/7 bus drivers that drove the injured to hospital and even got an award for it from the mayor of london even though she had cancer at the time.She always put others first right till the end and never gave up untill last november 08 she lost the fight at the young age of 50.But towards the end she had a short stay in st josephs hospice for 6 weeks before we took her home for her last days i thought the hospice was a bad place to put my mum as i felt i had to care for her myself the least i could do for my mum and didnt think there was help to the standerd she deserved .Well hands up how wrong was i the staff at st josephs are all sent from above and are angels on this planet and will exceed any care out there.They are a charity based hospice and it costs them 12 million yes 12 million pounds a year to run and of that need to raise 7 million in donationsjust to keep them going so that is why i feel it is the least i can do to help for the priceless work they have done for my mum and many thousand others besides her by doing this bike ride i may not raise much but it all helps in one way or another.So i ask if you can find it in your hearts to help raise some fund and the profile of this amazing hospice that is st josephs and pass the word to others thank you for taking the time to read my page and god bless you all yours scott barker and family xps or if you have anything we can auction off for the charity that would be good .
