SOUTH DOWNS WAY CHARITY WALK 25 APRIL to 2 MAY 2010
In 2006 Mick Phillpot and Dave Nealer (both past-Captains of West Hove Golf Club) walked the South Downs Way for charity. Four years on, and having now recovered, they feel inclined to take up this Olympian 100-mile challenge again.
So, in celebration of West Hove Golf Club’s Centenary this year, and the designation of the South Downs as the latest UK National Park, they would like you to sponsor their efforts by donating to the centenary year Club Captains’ charities.
Club Captain Gordon Eaton’s choice of charity is LEO HOUSE at Home. It is a small, local charity established by Brighton Lions Club to help life-limited children, young people and their families living in the Brighton & Hove area. It is therefore very likely that you could be supporting the child of someone you know.
Much more information can be found on their website www.leohouse.org.uk but it is worth noting that all of their Trustees are volunteers and receive no payment whatsoever, so your donation will therefore be fully utilized.
Dave and Mick will take eight days (aches, pains, blisters etc. permitting!) to complete their walk, so all we ask is that you spend just a minute or two to sponsor them and donate generously to this very worthy cause. Thank-you.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
