Fundraising for Headway Portsmouth And South-East Hampshire
Story
Strokes impact the lives of many people of many different ages, but perhaps it is least expected in younger people, who are sociable, active and often the life and soul of the party.
We are a group of 7 work colleagues and close friends who have recently experienced first hand the effects that a stroke can have on a young persons life when one of our own, a young man of only 26 years old suffered a life changing stroke.
His life and that of his partner, and family have been forever impacted by the event. He has many stages of his recovery journey ahead of him left to go through but during the early rehabilitation process he has come into contact with a fantastic organisation, Headway Portsmouth and South East Hants.
Headway is a charity that provides personalised advice, information and practical support to assist rehabilitation, and maximise recovery and independence for people following their brain injury. But the work of this organisation requires funding to ensure they can continue to help as many people as possible.
We are therefore completing a cycle ride from London to Amsterdam in order to raise funds for Headway which will enable them to continue to help people who have suffered a brain injury, their loved ones and their families. Over 4 days in September we will complete the 350 mile trip with the support of two drivers.
We are aiming to raise as much money as we possibly can for this fantastic organisation and anything you can spare will truly go along way.
