Pennine Way Challenge 2008 · 1 July 2008
BREAKING NEWS - Seymour made it from Edale to Kirk Yetholm. Although, judging by the picture opposite, he may take some time to recover from the celebrations!
Please keep sponsoring - we are very near to reaching the £1,000 target.
Why I am fundraising for Cancer Research?
I lost my brother to cancer in 2005 and my father to the same disease in 2007. My wife's mother, father and brother also died of cancer.
Nearly 10 years ago now, I was diagnosed with malignant Melanoma which had spread into the lymphatic system. I was fortunate to have pioneering treatment from a national Reader for skin cancer who literally saved my life.
Walking all 270 miles of the Pennine Way is my way of helping others receive the best treatment for cancer informed by leading edge research. It's also a major challenge and I love a challenge!
Why the Pennine Way?
The Pennine Way is widely regarded as the UK's most difficult National Trail. It starts at Edale in the Peak District and covers remote and rugged upland areas of the countryside from Edale in the Peak District through the Yorkshire Dales and the North Pennines before crossing the Scottish border to end at Kirk Yetholm.
I'll be walking around 20 miles each day for two weeks staying in Hostels, B&Bs and Bunkhouses.
