Let me tell you a little about who I'm raising money for:

YMCA North Tyneside is a local charity dedicated to helping transform the lives of vulnerable young people throughout North Tyneside, in the north of England.

As well as housing young and vulnerable people in supported accommodation, YMCA North Tyneside provides ongoing training and education to help young people learn new skills and develop as individuals.

Alongside essential community services like the YMCA Nursery, Café, and Gym, YMCA North Tyneside creates inclusive and energising communities where young people can truly belong, contribute and thrive.

Now, a smidge about me:

After several long years with minimal activity, I started running this year to get outside and stretch my legs. Fast forward a couple of months, and I found out my sister's workplace had a spot left to take part in the Great North Run... so, with 6 weeks to go, I took up the challenge. What better than the prospect of a half-marathon to light the training fires and get moving!

In addition to raising money for a great charity, my aims are simply to enjoy the atmosphere on the day, and to finish the race. Since I'm still a complete newbie to all this, be gentle with your expectations!
