Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running the Glasgow Half Marathon on the 6 October 2013, on behalf of the Anthony Nolan Trust. This Trust is a pioneering charity that helps save the lives of people with blood cancer who need a bone marrow transplant. Every 20 minutes someone in the UK is told they have blood cancer and need this transplant to live.
Up until a few months ago I didn't even know this charity existed. In April this year, my big brother Tony was diagonsed with leukemia and needed a bone marrow transplant to survive. Thanks to the Anthony Nolan Trust, they found him a donor match and in mid August he had the stem cell transplant. He has a long road ahead of him but is strong and confident he will recover.
We are all affected by cancer and no of someone who has cancer. We can feel helpless, frustrated, angry, sad - whatever the emotion is I just think if we can do just something to raise money or awareness, we can do our bit to help victims of cancer. This is why I am running the Glasgow half marathon, for my brother who has the strength to fight and for the Anthony Nolan Trust for giving us hope that he will survive.
Any contribution is greatly appreciated. To get a picture of the lives your donation will help save, please have a look at this short video.
