The Cause: I plan to spend a year making art with vulnerable street children in a children's centre in Eldorado, Diadema with a local NGO, and will be funding myself throughout the whole time. Please help me be able to support young people to use art with the therapeutic powers it has! 

The Challenge: In return of reaching my full fundraising target, I will shave off all my hair. Yes that's right. ALL.

Articulate is a charity dedicated to providing disadvantaged children and young people the chance to engage in art projects to build confidence, self esteem and above all give children the voice they so deserve. 

In April 2017, I will be joining Articulate as an 'Arts Facilitator' and volunteering for 12 months in Brazil, running an array of art activities with the children. The locally based partner charity ACER supports the children who live in the favela there with a community centre, giving them activities to engage in, support for the family and an alternative to being on the streets. 

The reason I'm hoping to spend my year at this project is because the social care we have in the UK is vital to a number of vulnerable and at risk young people, and so the work that ACER and Articulate do to provide this in countries where there is limited access to support is inspiring. These projects cannot run without volunteers to hold the sessions, and I feel incredibly lucky to have been given the chance to do so!!! 

Any donations to help me raise the money needed to fund the year will be so very appreciated! Not only will it support the charity, but in return I will raise to the challenge (dared by none other than my loving sisters) to shave my hair as soon as I reach my full target.

As soon as that target is hit, I'll be trotting down to the nearest barber's and getting myself an egg makeover. Let's be honest...I'm going to look like my baby nephew, and then an asian pompom for a number of months. 

What's more...the shaving will be filmed too and placed online for all to see.....oh dear.
