Sick Kids Save Point 5 · 10 October 2014 to 12 October 2014 ·

We support Edinburgh's Royal Hospital for Children and Young People by giving seriously ill children and their families the extra support they need when facing a life-changing hospital visit. We speed up recovery, take away fear and provide reassurance, distraction and fun every step of the way.

Story

  • From 12pm 11th to 12pm 12th October, I'll be doing 'Sick Kids Save Point', the UK's biggest charity videogames marathon based in Edinburgh, in aid of the Royal Hospital for Sick Children.

  • Sick Kids Save Point is a 24-hour videogame marathon. Gaming for 24 hours straight is tough, but you might say "that's boring!", or "he does that with his weekend anyway!" (which is not strictly true..)

  • So here's the deal. I'm going to try and play through as many videogames as I can, classics and moderns, start to finish, all within 24 hours. I'm not a "speed runner", a gamer who specifically trains to beat games as fast as possible, by any means (or indeed, at all) so I'll really be pushing myself.

  • Flat donations are very welcome, however, for the excitement, I would encourage donors to sponsor me an amount per game completed via this form: http://bit.ly/1uJOMNR, which can then be provided here or offline.

  • I'll be streaming the whole thing live so you can watch me undergo this ordeal any time and either cheer me on or heckle me!

  • Here's my current gaming schedule:

    12:00 - 16:00 PM
Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit
    16:00 - 18:00 PM Sonic the Hedgehog
18:00 - 20:00 PM Octodad: Dadliest Catch - with guest star!
    20:00 PM - 01:00 AM Hotline Miami
    01:00 - 04:00 AM Sonic the Hedgehog 2
    04:00 - 09:00 AM Bastion
    09:00 - 12:00 AM Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles - with guest star!

  • Although I've only been here two years, many people I know or their families have been treated at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh and they really do provide an invaluable service, so any contribution, no matter how small, will be very much appreciated.

  • Thank you!
