We raise funds for mental health to benefit children and young adults

Story

The emotional wellbeing of children is just as important as their physical health.

For a young person with symptoms of a mental health disorder, the earlier treatment is started, the more effective it can be. Early treatment can help prevent more severe, lasting problems as a child grows up.

Among Teenagers, rates of depression and anxiety have increased by 70% in the past 25 years. Over half of mental ill health starts before the age of 14 years and 75% has developed by the age of 18 . Around 850,000 children and young people in the UK currently have a diagnosable mental health disorder.

The Sam West Foundation has two objectives.

To promote awareness, diagnosis and treatment of mental health issues affecting children, young adults and their families

To advance the education of teenagers in music and the arts

To raise the money a team of six including Simon Brooks and Dr Deb Pandit both working at the Benenden Hospital will Ascent Mont Blanc, Training for six days with ropes, crampons and ice picks. And ascend over 2 days.
