Story

Hello Everyone!!

Ok so you're probably on here because one of us has managed to bully you into sponsoring us for the marathon we're running in April! Seeing as you are on here we thought you might like to know where the whole crazy idea started out and also explain a bit about our chosen charity.

Well the idea of running a marathon stemmed from a pretty jokey conversation; the joke ended fairly abruptly when within 2 weeks we were both signed up for a marathon in PARIS!! A crazy decision? maybe, but I'm sure you'll all be pleased to know that we've started to take things a bit more seriously and have been going on training runs every couple of weeks or so :p!

Anyway onto the important bit and Headway. Basically this is an amazing organisation that helps with the rehabillitation of people who have suffered from brain injuries. The branch we would be giving the money we raise to is the Headway branch in North Staffordshire. Fatima has been going to this particular branch as one of her placements from Keele medical school and has seen first-hand the fantastic work that is done by Headway.

Previous donations to the charity have gone towards and IT room and woodwork room but the crucial factor that Headway provides is a place where people who otherwise feel lonely and isolated are able to come, make friends and have a good time; all in a safe and friendly environment (reading this back, maybe that last part is a bit too cheesy but nevermind!)

So now you've heard a bit about Headway and with the guarentee that neither of us will probably be able to walk for a good few months after the marathon (as 40km is actually quite a long way!!), we would love it if you could donate something to a cause that really is worthwhile (by this we obviously mean Headway not us not being able to walk for months!)

Thank you to Everyone who does donate!
