Zoë's Place provides 24-hour palliative, respite and end-of-life care to infants aged 0-5 years with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. We provide short-term regular care with our dedicated nursing staff, in a home from home environment to give parents and carers a well deserved break.

Story

Hello.

I'm Simon and I'm a bloke so naturally I'm going to do something silly, ie attempt to do 10 full marathons in  10 days.

Why ? I here you ask .Well I like to set my self goals to achieve over the last few years as I have been fighting cancer. I was  diagnosed with two cancers 10 years ago , Double testicular cancer (both removed)  and Non-Hodgekins lymphoma. I did run marathons then but only 29 at this point over a twenty year period .

I was told I would not have the energy to run marathons  and would be very lucky to see 50, I was 41 at the time. I was inspired by the wonderful Jane Tomlinson and Lance Armstrong (you can't take away what he raised for cancer research) and slowly built my strength up and did my 30th in 2005 then decided to keep going and have completed 246 marathons at the time of writing this, raising a few bob for cancer charities along the way. I am also 52 now and recently told in full remission. Yipeeee!.

I am doing the Atherstone badgers first 10k four days before the 10 in 10 with my son Shaun and one of the main charities  is Zoe,s place so it was a no brainer to do the 10 in 10 for them. Please take a look at the Zoe' place website and you will see why.

Thanks for supporting Zoe's place and me.
