In November I am heading to Everest Base Camp. At an altitude of 5,364 meters (6.5 times the height of Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world), there is only about 50% of the oxygen compared to sea-level. The low level of oxygen makes this a difficult and exhausting trek.

I am doing it to raise funds for 2 great charities.  The British Heart Foundation and Leukaemia Busters.

Coronary heart disease is the UK's single biggest killer, The British Heart Foundation are leading the fight against it. My mum has recently had a triple heart bypass and would not be here if it was not for the excellent work & research of this charity.

Leukaemia Busters’ research is aimed at saving young lives. Their mission is to fund and conduct research focused on discovering and developing novel antibody-based treatments for patients with leukaemia and other related blood cancers.
