Sisters' Squat Sessions · 1 November 2021

In April 2013, The Boom Foundation was set up and it remains the only charity in NI dedicated to supporting patients suffering from sarcoma, a rare form of bone and soft tissue cancer. 50% of funds raised go to Sarcoma UK towards vital research; the rest supports those affected by sarcoma in NI.

Story

Hello Everyone, thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are 10 girls doing 100 squats per day for 30 days in this month of November to support and raise awareness for our sister-in-law, Aveen McGarvey's chosen charity.

'The Boom Foundation' is the only charity in Northern Ireland dedicated to supporting patients affected by Sarcoma, a rare form of bone and soft tissue cancer. As well as supporting patients in Northern Ireland, half of all funds raised will go to Sarcoma UK, towards vital research.

Aveen was diagnosed in February 2020, undergoing major surgery and completing intensive chemo and radiotherapy until November 2020, without complaint, despite it being a difficult journey.

Now, one year on, her eight sisters-in-law, Sinead, Maoliosa, Aine, Donna, Orlaith, Niamh, Eilis and Sonia, her niece Anna and her daughter Sorcha are all getting involved.

We will be completing 30,000 squats in a very short month!!

Aveen is back enjoying life to the full but is off the hook as regards the squats......for now!!
