Story
On Saturday 24th October, 48 people from across London and beyond gathered to take part in a 'choir in a day' workshop. Led by six vocal leaders and musicians, they learned four songs in the space of six hours, and performed them to an audience of friends and family at a concert that same evening. One of the songs was written especially for this event by Oscar Wood, using original lyrics in Arabic written by a Syrian youth worker he met in a refugee camp in Lebanon over the summer. Check out the video of this performance here: https://www.facebook.com/singtowerhamlets
We are overwhelmed by the response to this fundraiser - huge thanks to everyone who came along to the workshop and the concert, and who donated even though they couldn't!
It's still possible to donate so if you're impressed with our Arabic pronunciation (taking into account that we learnt this song in about an hour!) when why not text SFSY50 with an amount to 70070? Thanks!
