Sepsis Research FEAT funds vital research into sepsis and helps to raise awareness of sepsis. Sepsis is a life-threatening condition caused by the body overreacting to infection. It kills around 50,000 people in the UK each year. Please support us today & help us in our mission to #stopsepsisnow.

Story

I am running three trail runs this summer- the Osmotherley Phoneix in July, a half marathon in the Alps And the Hellrunner in November-! it will involve running over 50 miles!!

I am fundraising in memory of Fi and Isla. I first met Fi at my sister Katies wedding and have fond memories of the fun that we had!

I was with Katie when we heard the dreadful news that weekend in August when Fi was admitted to hospital a few days after she had admitted her husband Craig with sepsis to their local hospital. Thereafter Fiona herself became very unwell with sepsis. Baby Isla was delivered and was sadly stillborn. Despite all efforts Fiona died some hours later.

What has  happened to Fi, Isla,Craig and Robert should never happen to a family. Craig is an amazing person and I am humbled and honoured to fundraise for such a cause on a personal Level.

UPDATE

August 2013

Just completed FOUR half marathons in the Alps!!!!! Also entered into the Hellrunner in November and really hope it does not live up to its name.

i am also doing an 18 miles trail run in Yorkshire at the end of August!!!!

August 2013

The half marathon in the French Alps started in Morzine on a wet day in blistering heat. The uphill runs were awful but managed to run past my goal and did almost 15 miles!! Thankfully the downhill rums went by really fast but now my legs aches like mad!!!! Passed my fundraisintargets so thank you all .x

Roll on the next challenge- The Hellrunner!!!!!

July 2013

Well the Osmotherley Phoneix is done! Blistering heat and a horrible 2,000 foot ascent! Really achy but pleased. Roll on the next challenge in august !!!!Had a little weep at the finish as felt so overwhelmed- thinking of FEAT made me keep going. and before anyone asks, I will do the Phoneix again next year! Turning into a bit of a fell runner now!

I am running in memory of Fiona and Isla but also to raise awareness of FEAT.

FEAT is a registered charity (SC044017) established following the sudden death from sepsis of 38-year-old Dr Fiona Agnew and her baby Isla in August 2012. Its main aim is to stop sepsis through raising awareness and raising funds to help research this life threatening condition.
