Story
On the 17th April 2011 I will be joining my amazing sister running the London Marathon for Vision - a charity which aims to enable Blind and visually impared children to broaden their horizons and engage with the community.
With an intense 14 week training programme I am aiming to complete the 26 mile run in under 4.5hrs with all parts of the body still intact and a smile (?!?!) on my face ;)
Thank you in advance for your generous support and I hope to make everyone proud with my efforts.
In case you wish to read more information on Vision, please read on. If not and you'd just like to me incredibly happy and help with a donation....click away!
“Vision (www.visioncharity.co.uk) aims to enable Blind and visually impaired children to fully contribute to society. We fund projects throughout the UK providing equipment, activities & skills to broaden their horizons and engage with the community. To date, Vision has raised in excess of £3m for equipment, activities and research to change the lives of Blind & VI children and their carers. Our donations benefit organisations throughout the UK and recently in Sierra Leone & Sri Lanka.
Vision’s latest initiative is a sports legacy fund, which will enable Blind & VI children and young adults to access sport throughout the UK. We aim to increase awareness of the challenges and raise funds to enable our children to overcome the obstacles that currently prevent them from participating. Vision believes strongly that sport is a great vehicle for change. It encourages team building, problem solving, social awareness and many other attributes that will improve the chance for ourchildren and young people to fully contribute to society and the world around them.”
